Who are we?

MALIKOW TOURS is a malian inbound tour operator (commercial name for Malikow Timitrin)
led by a french and a touareg managers.

- Tamadacht Festival in Anderamboukane near Ménaka (405 km east of Gao, 6h track driving)
- Desert Festival in Essakane near Timbuktou (70 km, 3h track driving)

- We propose the discovery of the mythic places of Mali : Dogon country, Timbuktu, Djenné, Niger river, Gao… privileging human contacts with the locals rather than meeting only other tourists
- We assure an up date training every year for our guides, tour leaders, cooks and drivers to guarantee a constant quality of our services
- We prospect regularly the regions of Mali to propose new tours and also open new perspectives of economical development projects for the local populations

Our means

- Experienced malian tour leaders, speaking fluent french and english
- Specialised guides in Timbuktu, Djenné and the Dogon country
- 4WD’s and / or minibuses with french speaking drivers
- Camping with tents and mattresses, and/or on the flat roof of Dogon houses
- Hotels and camps : clean and simple
- Meals : in local restaurants varying as much as possible the menus. On the road or on the track : cold meals for lunch (mixed salads and seasonal fruit) and hot 2 course meal for dinner

All our team is malian (guides, tour leaders, cooks, drivers, boat crew , porters, donkeys and camels leaders…)

MALIKOW TOURS management and operations are under the responsability of Elisabeth Léonide, french lady who lives in Mali since 2001 and dedicate a passion for Africa and his habitants.

Elisabeth was a tour manager for french, americans and italians groups across the world (adventure tours, organised tours, expeditions in East and Austral Africa). She has collaborated for the last five years with french tour operators, putting into place, for each of them, a specific product.
